Horse Assisted Leadership & Team Development

Whether it is a part-day work shop, day-long or intensive program, I am here to support your team’s needs. I assess areas that need support within your team to build a custom program for you. Some areas of concentration may be team development that strengthens leadership skills, communication and reaching your goals. These programs build confidence in your team, clearer communication and support your team to be successful through collaboration and care.

How does partnering with horses help?

Leadership and collaboration have to be integrated in the mind and in the body for there to be true success. This takes presence, clarity, and trust. Working with horses makes these qualities visible in the moment. Horses give immediately feedback, which supports communication and trust. Your teams will gain clarity about roles, responsibility, and cooperation. Embodied experience and learning transfers directly into everyday personal and professional life.
Experiential learning is grounded, powerful, and sustainable. Here are some examples of what maybe addressed.

1. How roles and expectations affect collaboration.

2, The misunderstandings that get in the way of success and movement within your team.

3.How trust and shared clarity increase motivation, movement and direction.

4.How your team can align more rapidly toward common goals.

The team exercises with horses create memorable, practical insights that participants can take directly into workplace collaboration. These activities increase trust and psychological safety, improve communication, and create mutual accountability.

These programs can also address work-life balance and self care in order to avoid burn out and turn over in your business.

Horse Assisted Therapy

I offer one-on-one sessions for individuals seeking healing with the help of horses. I am currently seeing ages 12 and up. I serve as a primary therapist and adjunctive. I offer family and couples sessions focused on areas that needs support .

I offer individual, family and couple sessions. These sessions may guide you on how to emotionally support a child, spouse, or loved one. I support communication struggles and repairing relationships. Horse assisted therapy can address your needs in a clear and direct way, while partnering with horses.

The focus of sessions is to support mental health and well being, personal development and building life skills like confidence and empathy. Horses act as sensitive mirrors to human emotions and body language, providing immediate, nonjudgmental feedback. This maybe extra supportive to individuals who have a hard time connecting to others as well as individuals who have trauma.

Both humans and horses emit electromagnetic energy from their heart which is measurable and plays a crucial role in their interactions. A horse’s heart is 10 times the size of a human heart. This expanded electromagnetic range can have a soothing effect on individuals, contributing to the therapeutic benefits of equine-assisted programs. It has been proven that working in close proximity to a horse can reduce heart rate, blood pressure, and cortisol levels (stress hormones). It can also cause the feel-good endorphins to increase in us. Being around horses elevates our mood.

What you can expect in our wok together

1. Connect with yourself and your equine partner. See how presence and energy influence outcomes.

2. Build trust within yourself and partnership to boost confidence.

3. Learn to recognize unconscious behaviors that are getting in your way and gain experience on how to address them.

4. Experience feedback in the present moment.

5. Reduce stress and re-gain balance.

6. Support making your leadership visible and achievable through intention and notable shifts within yourself.

Note: All work is done on the ground.

Mentorship for Therapists

I provide mentorship for therapists who want to become certified and apply equine assisted therapy in their practice. I provide experiential mentorship, offering sessions online or in person to direction you towards a certification that fits your needs.

Mentorship topics may include:

1. Helping you decide if this path is right for you.

2. What your values and ethics are related to this field. How can you build a practice around this.

3. How to clinically implement equine assisted psychotherapy. Looking at a timeline and how to get certified based on your level of experience.

3. Assessing what clients would be best for you to work with and how this would be implemented.

4. Learning safety with horses and the use of clinical assessment in applying this.

5. Learning how to write liability and waivers for your practice.

6. Discussing best ethics, standards, and risk management for mental health providers.

Note: All work in done on the ground.

Horse Assisted Therapy for Treatment Programs

I specialize with teens and adults who struggle with relationships and attachment, and those who have experienced trauma. I specialize in women with eating disorders and survivors of abuse. I have significant experience working with veterans. My programs are therapeutic and balanced by a warm and holding environment.

There is a reason why horses are such great partners in helping individuals through personal struggles. Horses are herd animals with social order, much like humans. They seek companionship and must find their place in the herd's social structure. When a teen or adult spends time with a horse, they must assess and figure out their relationship with their horse, while the horse figures out the relationship as well. How individuals manage this process often mirrors their relationships with other people. This is a means to support healing and shifts within a person.

Horses are naturally wary creatures that tend to view all situations with suspicion. They communicate primarily through body language. Participants will develop the skills to interpret this subtle non-verbal communication in order to successfully bond. Through this experiential learning experience, they will build skills to help them create and retain relationships, communication, and empathy for others.

I am here to crate a program based on your programs needs. I look forward to working with you.
