Hello, I’m Lindsey
ABOUT ME
My Pronouns are She/Her. I honor the land in which I currently reside on, in Sonoma County, Ca. I honor the land stolen from Costal Miwok and Pomo People. I want to acknowledge that people from various racial, geographic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds have different lived experiences. They have unique cultural strengths and resiliency factors. They face varying types of adversity, discrimination and prejudice. There has been historical and current systemic oppression, dimensions of power and privilege. This makes it difficult to access appropriate and respectful medical and mental health care, education, housing, resources and assistance. I welcome and hold conscious space for all individuals and lived experiences. I bridge the gap where I can by offering reduced fee slots to those in need.
As a psychotherapist of 15 plus years, I have spent time diversifying my training to best support those I work work with. I am a clinician certified in Ecotherapy, EMDR, Inclusive Eating Disorder Advanced Specialist, and Equine Interaction Professional. I am located in Petaluma, CA.
I provide an integrative approach with extensive training in integrative and depth oriented therapies, women's issues, trauma, sexual abuse, incest, eating disorders, chronic health issues, tick born illness and grief and loss. I work with therapists, medical professionals, individuals struggling with addiction, highly sensitive people, LGBTQ Plus, first responders, gender, sexuality, relational struggles, grief and life transitions. I strongly encourage a treatment team approach. I integrative evidence based modalities while also offering somatic based therapy to support the nervous system. My work is informed by natures wisdom, community connections, equine assisted therapy and eco-psychology. I help individuals work to embody their whole self, while finding purpose and meaning. I am deeply attuned to the suffering of our world and the ecological crisis that needs our attention.
I utilize my background in leadership and leadership development with the help of horses to work with corporations and business to find balance, strength and sustainability in their organization. I support families, couples and individuals through designing programs and retreats that meet specific communication, mental health and personal .professional needs.
I believe that each person I work with has the capacity to heal and everything they need within themselves to thrive. As a psychotherapist my hearts work is to support individuals in finding community, connection, balance, inner authenticity, voice, compassion, grace, humility and resolution in their journey.
I practice from a HAES (Health at Every Size Model) and believe in the human capacity to love and transform. I am passionate about relational justice, access to medical care and taking care of the Earth. I deeply care about the human spirit, kindness and animals. My dog, River, is in my office as extra emotional support to those in need. I grow strength and build community wherever I go. I believe this is what the world desperately needs. I hold a strong therapy container where all things can be explored.
Supervision and consultation of:
Eating disorders, complex trauma, equine assisted therapy, tick borne illness, chronic Illness, medical trauma, equine assisted therapy and grief and loss.
What I believe…
Healing is a journey, not a destination. Growth takes time, and every step forward matters.
You are not broken. You have the strength within you to heal and transform.
Everyone deserves a safe space. Judgment-free, compassionate support is essential for true healing.
Your feelings are valid. No emotion is too big or too small to explore.
Self-awareness leads to change. Understanding yourself is the first step toward transformation.
Boundaries are an act of self-respect. Healthy relationships start with honoring your own needs.
Healing comes with integration. All parts of us need to be seen and integrated for optimal health.
“First of all,
we have to help ourselves
and set ourselves free.”
-Thich Nhat Hanh
My Approach
Entering into psychotherapy takes courage. I honor those who ask for support who are work to trust someone with their wounds and vulnerability. I want you to know that, even though our western medical model uses diagnosis in order to help treat people with certain struggles, I see the limitation to this. I see psychological and physical symptoms as a symbolic expression of experiences, trauma and parts of ourselves that want to be integrated. I see them as an expression and way to adapt to the chaos and illness in our world. It is my job to support in integrating this in a healthy way.
I am warm, welcoming and relational. I see my clients as an expert in their lives and my job is to support them in finding what is right for them. I am honest, direct, engaging and use humor in session. I believe the relationship between client and therapist in the most important part of therapy. We must integrate our shadow/disowned parts to be in balance and grow past current struggles and limitations.
